Adobe Reader

Adobe Acrobat is a family of computer programs developed by Adobe Systems, designed to view, create, manipulate and manage files in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF).[1] Some software in the family, particularly the creating software, is commercial, and some is freeware. Adobe Reader (formerly Acrobat Reader) is available as a no-charge download from Adobe's web site, and allows the viewing and printing of PDF files.[2] Acrobat and Reader are widely used as a way to present information with a fixed layout similar to a paper publication.

Acrobat Reader for Windows Mobile 5.0 up

This program works fine on my Verizon XV6700 running Windows Mobile 5.0. I had to bypass the Microsoft ActiveSync installation instructions, though, because I kept getting an error on my PPC. Instead, I copied the .CAB installation file from the Microsoft ActiveSync folder on my PC to the storage card on my PPC, and ran the installation from there. It completed the installation and the program runs perfectly.

"I have the new Motorola Q phone "Hello Moto" and it runs WM V5.0. I tried syncronizing the Adobe reader v.2.0 and v.1.0 to it and it will not successfully install. at the end it fails with a message, not compatable with this device. Any help on this would be appreciated."

how to get adobe 2.0 to work on wm5
Written by globe on 2006-03-14 06:57:55
Hi everybody,
I have found a way how adobe reader 2.0 will work on wm5. Simply follow these steps:

-Install Adobe Reader 2.0 on your PPC
-Install Total Commander avaiable here: http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
Only with total commander you can change the registry
- start the Total Commander and go to "\" which will lead you to the registry
- in "HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAdobeAdobe Reader4.0AdobeViewer" you have to change the entry: EULA from "0" to "1"

Done! Now adobe 2.0 should work on your PPC!
Adobe Reader on ipaq hx2495
Written by engillis on 2006-02-20 14:20:11
I was also disappointed to find out that Reader was not available for WM5. I have an ipaq hx2495. Adobe Reader 2.0 for Pocket PC would not install on my handheld; however, version 1.0 did and works fine. I'll miss some the enhancements v2.0 offered, but I'll guess I'll just wait for the next version.

I had problems with Version 2.0, but the 1.0 version works faster, has a smaller footprint, and doesn't have the glitches that Version 2.0 has on WM5. You can download it from one of the PocketPC 2002 links on thispage.
